What do you want?

What do you want? That seems like an easy enough question. However, most people are not able to answer it with a specific reply. I believe most people can better tell you what they don't want with more detail and conviction. How do we as a society allow ourselves to continue moving and performing daily activities with no idea of clearly defined destination? When you decide to no longer be part of that group, you will have taken the first step to achieving greatness in your life.

Let's look at this from a different perspective. It's 8pm on a Wednesday night, your phone rings and your best friend Fred is calling(yes, it is ok to actually answer a call). Fred is excited to be able to invite you on an all expese paid dream vacation. The trip will begin by arriving at a local private air hangar where you will board a private jet, no bag check, no TSA, no turn your phone off, no raise your seat back kind of jet. As you board the plane you are greeted by your hostess who immediately takes your drink order and explains your snack and meal choices. The cockpit crew actually comes back to introduce themselves and welcome you aboard.

Life is great as you are sipping on your drink, laughing and catching up with your best friend Fred as the jet begins to taxi. You are beaming with excitement and can hardly believe this is really happening, but the mood quickly changes when you notice an intense discussion in the cockpit and the jet comes to an abrubt stop. It seems no one has entered the destination into the computer and there is confusion between the pilots. The pilot says it is not necessary to have the gps working since he has flown there before, the co-pilot disagrees but reluctantly gives in to the pilots wishes and away you go.

Two questions come to mind. Are you still excited and sipping your drink? and What is your confidence level in this ending well? These are similar questions I have watching the masses of people everyday. We all witness people, including ourselves, doing the same actions everyday in life. We are the pilot of the life we have been given but amazingly choose to throw the rules of logic out with the trash before we take off. It is amazing to me how some people can't get across town without using a GPS but will live their entire life without any specific destination at all.

I have great news, you have the chance to choose your destinaton. God gave us the wonderful gift of our mind, and within it our imagination, to paint the image of where we desire to go and who we choose to become. I challenge you to be bold enough to paint an image for your future that is worthy of God's greatest creation...YOU!
