My views on Success
I was recently asked by a friend, “What does it take to be successful?” So many of us define success as the amount of money we make or by our material possessions, but really those are just the byproducts of success. I believe that being successful means having the freedom to be able to live your life the way you choose. In being successful you afford yourself true freedom of choice. So how does one get to this point? I believe there are two things to focus on, yourself and your ideal. Before you begin to think about money, you must focus on your self-image and knowing your value. Your self-worth comes before your net-worth. If you do not have a positive self- image the fruits of your labor will in turn not be positive. The value you hold in the marketplace is directly tied to how you value yourself. If you do not see yourself as valuable, how can you expect anyone else to see you as valuable? The Lord says: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” You can only extend the amount of love (or service) to others that you have for yourself, and in turn you cannot expect others to place any stock in the service you provide.Secondly, you must focus on your ideal. Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. An ideal is an idea that you are passionate about. Every day, visualize what it is you want, what you are working toward. It is important to keep your thoughts positive. Positive thoughts produce positive outcomes. Over time you will see that your success will be based less on the amount of money you have and more on the goal that you are realizing. Your success will be the progression of seeing your ideal come to life. It is also the person you will become in the process. The money is only an extension of your success. These two points are guiding principles in my book, “God was Self Employed”. In my book I lay out in detail the steps to being successful and the tools to use these points in your life. “God was Self- Employed” is set to be electronically released by mid-April. In the meantime, stay up to date with me through social media. Thank you for visiting my blog.
