On the path of greatness being misunderstood is one of the most difficult things you will encounter. However, this should be a source of motivation and not discouragement. We all seek approval of our opinions and actions in an attempt to support our beliefs in serving others. It would be nice if everyone understood that your actions, words and motivation was to simply help them, but that will not always be the case. The good news is this, some will.
I have spent most of my life studying personal development and becoming all that I was created to be. This is a course that I wish everyone would pursue, it is rewarding beyond measure but comes with a price. There is a scripture that tells us that whatever we choose to do, to do it with all that we have. (Ecclesiastes 9:10) If you want to be successful in any endeavor you will need to attack that area with all that you have. Vince Lombardi once quoted "The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor."
Society has led people to become more interested in our feelings and being offended, rather than pursuing excellence and greatness. I have noticed that people will completely miss the message being presented simply because of the method of delivery by the messenger. What a shame! Too many times the very thing that will help us, we discard because our self-image is not good enough to set aside our "feelings" to receive a gift. Well, if it makes you feel better, Jesus had the same problems. Also, feelings will change but the truth won't.
There comes a point in our lives when we are presented with the reason we are created, some will embrace this and some will cower and hide behind excuses. The precious few that embrace this will begin to live life with a boldness and passion that will offend some and motivate others. I am grateful that I have found this and embraced it, and in doing so I also live a life of being misunderstood by those who haven't. This revelation may be the most gratifying and lonely experience in life.
It is my desire that you will not only find your purpose, but will embrace it with every ounce of passion and enthusiasm that you possess. Take comfort in knowing that while everyone may not understand or value your message, they don't need to, it only takes one to make it worthwhile.
